Museu del Modernisme

In 2010 Barcelona opened  the new Museu del Modernisme. It is situated in the centre of Barcelona in a former textile factory. Visitors can enjoy a cultural centre dedicated exclusively to modernista art. The museum possesses several items by Antoni Gaudí, including chairs from Casa Batlló and a mirror from Casa Calvet. These are supplemented by a host of items by his lesser-known contemporaries, including some typically whimsical, mock-medieval pieces by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. The basement exhibits art Modernisma, including paintings by Ramon Casas and Santiago Rusiñol, and statues by Josep Llimona and Eusebi Arnau.
